WHAT IS CHAGA?

The black birch fungus (Inonotus obliquus; chaga) is a perennial parasitic fungus that damages the trunks of deciduous trees and causes white heart rot. The chaga fungus resembles a woody growth or tuber that looks like a lump of burnt charcoal, approximately 25-38 cm in size. The centuries-old history of these mushrooms is confirmed by a discovery: at an altitude of 3200 metres, under a glacier between Austria and Italy, a mummified human body was found with 3 species of mushrooms, including the chaga, still in its sack.

WHY IS IT USEFUL?

Chaga is low in calories but high in antioxidants, fibre, B vitamins, vitamin D, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, zinc, selenium, rubidium, cesium and more. The mushroom also contains substances such as beta-glucans, betulin and betulinic acid (triterpenes) and melanin. The birch mushroom contains more than 200 substances that are beneficial to human health and can therefore be called the king of mushrooms rather than the bay mushroom. The health benefits of these mushrooms have been demonstrated in experimental animal studies and clinical trials in patients.

Ingredients. Inonotus obliquus (Chaga) fruiting body extract 8:1 (standardized for 30 % total polysaccharides), Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (Capsule Shell).

Per serving (2 capsules): Inonotus obliquus (Chaga) fruiting body extract 8:1 (containing 300 mg polysaccharides), equivalent to 8000 mg of pure Inonotus obliquus (Chaga) fruiting body powder.
